Enzyme Immobilization through adsorption
Overview

Adsorbents for Enzyme Immobilization

Because of their hydrophobic properties, some enzymes can be efficiently immobilized onto adsorbent resins. Resin is a water-insoluble carrier that allows the physical adsorption of an enzyme onto its surface. The process will not damage the biocatalysis sites and does not require special reagents. Biocatalytic reactions that involve solvents or hydrophobic media such as oils benefit from immobilization through adsorption.
