Purolite is proud to welcome Dr. David Hayhurst to the U.K. Sales Team

July 9, 2019 – Wales, U.K. – Purolite is proud to welcome Dr. David Hayhurst back to the Sales Team! David has returned to Purolite to assume the role of Technical Sales Manager for our U.K. team. In this new position, he will be responsible for looking after the Midlands and Southwest of England and Wales, providing technical and sales support to customers in that region. He will report to James Rosie, Business Manager, U.K., Ireland, South Africa, and Australasia.

David was originally connected with Purolite by a recruiter in 2008. He left Purolite to pursue other opportunities in 2013, and upon hearing about an opening for U.K. Technical Sales Manager, he decided it was an excellent opportunity to pursue. Corporate culture is a key element of the employment decisions David makes, and first hand experience of the Purolite Corporation meant that he knew it would be a great company to return to, offering a positive work space and excellent focus on employee wellbeing. David will work remotely in territory, with regular visits to R&D Centre of Excellence in Llantrisant, Wales.

David has a strong technical understanding, and a decade of experience in technical sales roles. He focuses on effective communication with customers, regardless of what type of support they are seeking or their level in their organization. He specializes in pharmaceutical applications. David’s primary language is English, but he also has some grasp of French and Italian. He is familiar with SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Office programs.

David received a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Industrial Placement from the University of Manchester, located in the U.K. He then returned to receive his Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. He comes to Purolite from Lonza, a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization, where he worked in business development. David enjoys the concept of helping to solve a customer’s problem and is motivated by watching the solutions work.

David will be based in the Midlands, U.K., where he lives with his family. When not providing a taxi service for his children’s social activities, he likes to run, play football and hike. He is also a qualified furniture maker. David is also very active within his community, having organized the local 10k road race and fun run for several years, raising money for the elementary school. He is also the founder and event organizer for a local annual festival; a 3-day event with music, open gardens, sporting events, and comedy acts, as well as many more activities.
