Removal from Boiler Feedwater

Boiler feedwater quality often requires low silica limits (< 20 ppb) for maximum boiler efficiency. In producing pure water via demineralization with ion exchange resins, silica is removed by the strong base anion exchange resin. The unit operation design must accommodate silica in the raw water to prevent silica leakage to the boiler feedwater. Strong base anion resins in hydroxide form controls high TOC and silica levels within boiler feedwater.
