Overview

Vitamin Purification

Vitamins are organic compounds required by the body as vital nutrients in limited amounts. When a body cannot synthesize it in sufficient amounts, it must be obtained through diet. Vitamin supplements are needed when bodies are not getting proper nutrients from diets and the nutrients are not adequately synthesized by the body.

There are thirteen required vitamins, most of which are groups of related molecules to include: vitamins A, C, D, E, K, Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pantothenic Acid (B5), Vitamin B6, Biotin (B7), Folate (B9) and Vitamin B12.

Purolite developed uniform particle sizes of a wide range of products to allow proper industrial chromatographic resins to maximize the selectivity and productivity of the process of vitamins, maximizing the efficient purification and productivity for vitamins C, D and E.

With resins ranging from 15 microns to 800 microns, Purolite can fine-tune the chemistry, porosity, ligand density, base matrix and bead size to provide the proper solution to difficult separations. Vitamins can be miscible or immiscible in water and therefore require specific resin for successful purification.
