Purolite UK has been sponsoring local youth team, Holton Road AFC for the last three years.

These local sports teams are a vital part of the community and provide equal opportunities for everyone to play the nation’s most popular sport, football (soccer), irrespective of; background, skill level or ability to pay.

Zac, the eldest son of one of the UK Plant’s Purchasing Administrators, Suzanne Huxter, has been playing for the side since he was just six years old, with her husband also being heavily involved within club.

Purolite’s continuous sponsorship has helped to pave the way for this young side, aiding their development by helping to fund equipment and training facilities.

This ensures a stable environment for each player to excel, with the 2021/2022 season being one of their most successful to date!

The team recently reached the Junior Football League Cup final, which was held at Jenner Park, the home of Welsh Football League side Barry Town.

As well as a successful cup run, they narrowly missed out on winning their local league, Division One by just two points! Finishing a very commendable second place, which will see them promoted to the higher division next season.

We are delighted to continue supporting teams like Holton Road AFC and continue to create a foundation for these young children.

Here at Purolite, we’re not just a one club company!

We have recently started sponsoring Graig F.C. a club who are right at the heart of the community of Graig, South Wales, UK.

Graig FC were formed in 1980 and are today a community football club focused on servicing the Graig and the surrounding areas by providing a friendly and safe environment for adults and children to play football. Graig FC started as a club for senior players only but in season 2018-2019, after many requests from the local community, we decided to start a minis section focused on providing an affordable, safe and fun environment for children to play football. We started with two coaches and 10 children and since then have expanded to have over 120 boys and girls from u5 to u10 and a youth team playing at the club supported by 15 coaches

Sponsoring these local teams is not only improving the outlet for these young people, but helping to build their confidence and support them on their paths to a brighter and healthier future.

Next season, both teams have their sights firmly set on winning their respective leagues, and we’ll certainly be cheering them on!
