Productivity

To improve productivity, the only variable you need to alter is to reduce the bed height, in this example from 20 cm to 10 cm. The other process conditions (i.e. flow rate, facility time) remain the same. 

The benefit of this method is that it fits directly into your existing batch protocol. As shown in the table below, the result of this bed height reduction when utilizing Praesto Jetted A50 doubles your productivity compared to other commercially available resins. There is also a reduction in resin cost of 65%.

If your main focus is cost efficiency, only two variables need to be altered - bed height and column diameter, other process conditions (i.e. flow rate, buffer consumption) are similar. The time in facility is slightly longer but productivity is doubled compared.

By reducing bed height from 20 cm to 10 cm and the column diameter from 60 cm to 45 cm, your to other commercially available resins whilst reducing resin costs by 80%.

As Praesto Jetted A50 is the only Protein A resin with uniform bead techology, it offers unique advantages. One of these is rapid diffusion and less dispersion, which in turn reduces the amount of buffer required.

Compared to conventional processes, our SMART process reduces your buffer consumption by up to 40%, triples your productivity and reduces your resin cost by 80%, all whilst having a similar processing window.

Variable Flow Loading

Dual loading is the process in which the loading is started at a 2 minute residence time. As the maximum capacity at that flow is being approached, the flow is then slowed down to 4 minutes residence time. This offers maximum capacity utilization without significantly affecting productivity in terms of process time.
