Purolite’s Laboratory in Wales, UK Receives ISO 14001:2015 Certification

Llantrisant, Wales, United Kingdom – February 6, 2017 – Purolite Ltd., located in Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales, United Kingdom, has received ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management system operations by the BSI Group, England. Officially awarded 06 February, 2017 for the research, development, manufacture and supply of ion exchange resins and synthetic adsorbents, the certification will remain valid until 05 February, 2020.

Ian Horton, Chief Administrative Officer notes, “The Environmental Management System (EMS) identifies all of the environmental aspects of the UK operations, and breaks them down into segments that Purolite can influence, and those it can’t during a product lifecycle. Additionally, it identifies measureable outputs for assessing performance.” Ian then adds, “It provides management a very effective way to assess the continual improvement process, and makes all employees keenly aware (even more so than previously) of the importance of workplace procedure in protection of the environment .”

Purolite would like to thank our team in the UK, including the ISO team, which was headed by Ian Horton, for their dedicated efforts during the approval process. The process for developing and ISO Certification program is not an easy one involving multiple days of auditing and over a year of preparation and refinement—yet in this process, the team has expanded their understanding and implementation of environmental law and governance. The UK has environmental law set by Europe, the UK and Wales.

Congratulations to Purolite United Kingdom for undertaking the responsibilities and obligations of this important and ongoing process.
