Lifetech ECR8409M is a hydrophilic, medium porosity, methacrylate polymer functionalized with amino groups on a long spacer (C6). It is used for covalent enzyme immobilization by pre-activation of the resin with glutaraldehyde to form very stable linkages. It can also be used for enzyme immobilization by ionic interaction. Lifetech ECR8409M is optimized for use in optimal use in batch reactor and column processes. 

Principal Applications

  • Covalent immobilization of enzymes (requires resin pre-activation with glutaraldehyde)
  • Can be used also for direct ionic enzyme immobilization
  • Ionic immobilization requires pH adjustment (resin is supplied at neutral pH)
