Purolite C108DR is a weak acid carboxylic cation exchange resin with unique characteristics. It represents the result of a long specific ambitious and successful research program. Its special chemical structure gives a higher pK value than that typical of carboxylic acid functionality of approximately 5.5 which ensures that the release of ionized hydrogen is kept to a minimum. Purolite C108DR has a specially tailored, fine and narrow, particle size range resulting in faster than average kinetics for this type of material together with typical controlled release of the loaded cations, which may be simple ones such as sodium and potassium or calcium or more complex ones such as higher molecular weight amines or other organic ions.

PuroliteC108DR is delivered in a dry form, which is substantially free of all types of bacteria. These properties make it ideal for pharmaceutical applications such as masking the extremely bitter taste of certain cardio-tonics and anti-depressants.

Purolite C108DR is also available in a moist bead form (Purolite C108).
