Sam Shands works as the Maintenance Helper for Purolite's G Street manufacturing site in Philadelphia. In his job, he services all areas in his department, including equipment repairs, while ensuring safety around the plant.

He was nominated by Production Manager, Tony Starkus, for lending an extra hand in the packaging department when he saw that help was needed — even coming in on weekends and night shifts. He proved to be a quick learner and helped in keeping production on schedule.

Sam started with Purolite as a temporary employee working through a staffing agency. He became fascinated with all of the facets of the manufacturing process. “Many hands, many minds, one team, one goal," he noted. When Sam is not at work, he enjoys movies, dancing and listening to music.

When asked about what he enjoys about working for Purolite, Sam shared, “the relationships (that I) developed with all of the staff and interacting with all areas/assisting everyone.” He added how supportive and helpful his team is, which makes the workday much easier. Sam is eager to learn new tasks to become an even better asset to the company. One of his goals is to use his skill set to work his way up in his department.

Thank you, Sam, for being so flexible and willing to lend your time and talents – Purolite is grateful for everything that you do. Congratulations!
