Fine Chemical Products

While there are thousands of chemicals produced daily for consumer use, some require higher purity to improve the safety and applicability as they may come in direct contact with the user.

While such chemicals are not consumed via digestion route, they can get applied to the skin or the clothing via detergents, soaps, shampoo, colognes, cosmetics, etc.

Common applications for fine chemicals include:

  • Cosmetics: ingredients are added to provide color, texture and moisture to the skin.

  • Fragrances: these volatile organics are typically separated by distillation. Resins are used when some selective properties are needed to achieve the desired smell.

  • Consumer Ingredients: ingredients such as surfactants found in soap and shampoo are purified via resins.
