This year’s Super Bowl is a day that will go down in history for the City of Philadelphia. Super Bowl LII pitted the New England Patriots, a five-time winner of the battle of the conferences, with the Philadelphia Eagles. It had been a long 13 years since the two teams went helmet to helmet and after season ending injuries and illnesses, the Eagles couldn’t wait to bring home a win for their city. After an exciting game the Eagles took home their first Lombardi Trophy defeating the heavily favored Patriots 41-33.
Purolite headquarters in Bala Cynwyd and the G Street Plant in Philadelphia kicked off the Super Bowl weekend with a party which included hoagies, wings, a chili cook-off competition, and lots and lots of green! For the competition, participants were voted for “best hot chili” or “best overall” with winners receiving an American Express gift card. At HQ, Zena Reyes took home the prize for her spicy rendition of the game day classic and Jason Hsu won the overall prize for his Chicago style chili. Down at G Street, Daniel Valentin and John Wisniewski took home the coveted chili winning titles.
The weekend couldn’t have ended on a better note for any fan of the Eagles, whether they live in Philadelphia and a city across the country. The team hadn’t won a championship game since 1960, before the creation of the Super Bowl and the NFL in 1970.
Purolite in Bala Cynwyd also said good-bye to Jonathan Campos, Technical Applications, as he prepared to make a move across the country to Colorado. We wish Jonathan the best of luck on his new journey!
