CPhi/InformEx 2018

For its second year, CPhI/InformEx took over the Pennsylvannia Convention Center to host thousands of pharmacuetical manufactureres and suppliers for the largest conference of its kind in North America. The conference delivers technical sessions on pharmaceutical manufacturing, outsourcing, R&D, and biomanufacturing advancements.

Purolite attended with an extra large booth, ready to discuss PuroMill, a polymeric milling media, with excited visitors. Other topics of interest at the Purolite booth incuded Purolite Life Sciences specialty pharmaceutical products such as APIs and excipients as well as CalB immo, an immobilized enzyme.

The first day's keynote speech was given by Dr. Bertalan Mesko, The Medical Futurist. In his speech, Dr. Mesko suggested that the imagination of sciece fiction authors could mingle with reality to become the future of patient healthcare. As an example, 3D printers could be used to print medication prescribed by a doctor on location rather than making a patient drive a distance to a pharmacy. In another example, medication can be delivered by drones to remote locations where populations would otherwise not have access to healthcare. Finally, Dr. Mesko imagined a world where our smartphones and cars can decipher minute changes in our physiology and alert us when it is time to see a doctor.

The second year of CPhI/InformEx was a success for the Purolite team. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year in Chicago!
