Employees safely look toward the sun for the solar eclipse

On August 21, 2017, Purolite USA was in the ~75% range for viewing the solar eclipse. Although the view was more complete at other locales in the USA, that didn't stop employees from enjoying this rare event.

The property managment team for the Bala office generously handed out viewing glasses that enabled tenants to safely look toward the sky as the moon passed in front of the sun. Offices in the area also had eclipse parties with fun on-topic treats including moon pies, sun chips, Capri Sun drinks and half and half cookies.

Although skies threatened with clouds, during the viewing period of 1:21 to 4:01 p.m. EST (with a peak viewing time of 2:44 p.m. EST), the view was excellent.

"I have friends who live in Missouri where the eclipse was very signficant," Noted Victoria Ortiz, Staff Accountant at Purolite's headquarters location. "From the video they sent me, it got much darker there. It was something very interesting to see. Although it didn't get as dark here, it was still a lot of fun to view…especially through the glasses."

Linda East, of Purolite's Accounts Payable team notes, "Watching the solar eclipse was very exciting. It could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and something I would not want to miss."

Juan Bazurto, IT Technician from Purolite's Bala Cynwyd office traveled to Lexington, South Carolina for a total eclipse view.

Thank you to Victoria, Juan, Ben Doktor, Jeffrey Frain, Julie Doboszczak and everyone that submitted photos for all to enjoy!
