To achieve the ultimate in water purity for the electronics industry, extensive treatment is often required.  This normally requires a pretreatment stage followed by RO or Make Up Ion Exchange plants, or often a combination of both to achieve a resistivity 10 to 15 M Ω.cm. Then to achieve the ultimate quality > 18.2 Ω.cm special grades of high purity resins are required in the polishing stage.  These are now available from Purolite under the UltraClean ™ range of products.
