Nuclear Grade Cation |
|
Purolite® nuclear grade strong acid cation (SAC) resins are a select group of products specifically prepared for use in nuclear power operations. These cation resins are stand-alone products for use in separate bed demineralization systems or layered in polishing mixed beds to offer additional cation capacity.
When selecting cation resins it is important to match capacity with expected performance. Lower capacity resins regenerate much more efficiently and are more economical. However, increasing capacity, which relates to cross linking, benefits selectivity and lowers ionic leakage and increased tolerance to oxidative conditions. Higher selectivity however results in slower kinetics reducing ionic loading and lower regeneration efficiency.
The Purolite macroporous cation resin offers the benefit of both selectivity and kinetics. Purolite's macroporous cation offers excellent selectivity and excellent kinetics allowing this resin to be operated at higher flow rates and achieving greater loading capacity than comparable cross linked gel cations.
Several SAC resin products are available in lithium 6 or a high purity lithium 7 form. | |
